Indian repeated provocations and LAC violations triggered fierce physical conflicts: China


BEIJING - China said on Saturday that repeated Indian provocations and violations of the Current Control Line (LAC) and the commander-level agreement, in addition to the violent attack on Chinese negotiating officers and soldiers, triggered fierce physical conflicts that caused casualties.

China and India remained in close communication through diplomatic and military channels to alleviate the situation.

However, he said in response to strong demand from the Chinese side, India agreed to withdraw personnel who crossed LAC and demolish the facilities, and they did so.

"India's front-line troops even violently attacked Chinese officers and soldiers who went there to negotiate, triggering fierce physical conflict and causing casualties," said Zhao Lijian.
