LAHORE: The woman who accused the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam, of physical and sexual assault, filed a police report for attempted murder.
Hamza Mukhtar has claimed that armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on his vehicle near the Kahna police station in Lahore. "My life is in danger. I have been receiving death threats for days," he said, asking Prime Minister Imran Khan for protection.
Confirming the complaint, the police said the matter will be investigated.

Azam lands in hot waters
Hamza had made accusations against Azam at a press conference last week, alleging that she was Azam's neighbor and a former schoolmate. She said the cricketers had "tricked her into falling in love" and "tortured" her when she proposed.
She petitioned the lower courts, claiming that she supported Azam financially when she was a "cricketer in distress" and spent "millions of rupees on her."
"When I called the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to make a complaint, they said it was a personal matter," he continued.
