The late American actor Chadwick Boseman was honored at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) on Sunday, as the show was dedicated to the Black Panther star.
The host of the evening, Keke Palmer began the ceremony with a moving tribute to the actor who became a pioneer of black artists with his iconic representations on the screens.
Palmer called Boseman "an actor whose talent and passion is a true inspiration to all the fans he played and everyone he encountered."
“We dedicate tonight's program to a man whose spirit touched so many. He is a true hero, not just on-screen, but in everything he did. Its impact lives forever ”, he added.
The awards show began with clips of the actor's victory at the 2018 VMAs for his role as King T’Challa in the record-breaking Marvel film Black Panther, which became the first to feature a black superhero.
Boseman lost his battle with colon cancer at the age of 43 on Friday, leaving the world in a state of utter disbelief with insurmountable pain. Fans, celebrities, and bigwigs from all walks of life had turned up to pay tribute to the deceased star.
