History:

Shab-e-Barat commemorates the day that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) entered the city of Mecca. Another belief says that Prophet Muhammad's wife, Hazrat Aisha Siddiqa, went out looking for him when she found him missing that night. She later found him in the Medina cemetery, mourning and praying for the forgiveness of the deceased for a long time, and this gave maximum sanctity to this day.

According to the Quran, on this night Allah said: “Whoever wants forgiveness, I will forgive you. Whoever wants food, I will give him food. "It is believed that Allah said this throughout the night until it was the Fajr, the time when Muslims pray at dawn. It is believed that on this day the destinies of all people are written by Allah considering his past actions and when he also forgives sinners.

However, some qualities are unacceptable and no mercy will be shown, for example, a person who creates conflict between two Muslims or a person who unfairly takes away the right and property of another Muslim and it has not yet been rectified.

According to a hadith, “Without doubt, Allah surrounds everything on the fifteenth night of Sha’aban with His mercy. He forgives all his creatures except the mushriks (polytheists) and those whose hearts are filled with hatred or enmity towards others ... ”(Al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib, 2: 118).

In a hadith, Aisha is reported to have said that Muhammad said: "This is Sha'ban midnight. Allah frees a large number of people from Hell in it, more than the number of hairs that grow on the sheep of the tribe. , Kalb. But he does not even look at a person who associates partners with Allah, nor at a person who feeds malice in his heart (against another Muslim), nor at a person who cuts the ties of relationships of the womb, or at a man that leaves the clothes beyond the ankles (as a sign of pride), to a person who disobeys their parents, or to a person who has the habit of drinking wine ".

Another hadith classified Hassan by Albani in his silsilah Al-Sahihah says: "Allah looks at the creation of him on the night of the 15th of Sha'aban and forgives his servants except two: one with hateful intent (mushanin) and one assassin (qatilu nafs) ".

Also reported by Tabrani and Al Bayhaqi, "The Prophet said: 'In the middle night of Shaban, Allah the Highest descends to the lowest heaven and remits more sins than the hair of the goats of Banu Kalb.'"

Those Muslims who observe this night do so with special prayers, fasts, and rituals such as staying awake most of the night, usually taking short breaks and praying to Allah, and reciting the Qur'an until dawn.
