Pakistan participating in multinational military exercise in Russia

 

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistani Armed Forces contingent participated in the opening ceremony of the multinational military exercise, called Kavkaz-2020, which was held in the Astrakhan region, Russia, on Saturday.

The Kavkaz exercise on September 21-26 aims to assess the troops' ability to react to various challenges and learn from the experiences of others, DG ISPR, Major General Babar Iftikhar, said on Saturday.

The exercises will be held near the southern Russian city of Astrakhan. In addition to Pakistan and Russia, participating countries also include Belarus, Azerbaijan, and China. India announced that it would withdraw its contingent from the event earlier this month. The exercise will provide an opportunity for Pakistan to forge military relations with Russia.
