ISLAMABAD: PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz appeared to be channeling popular character Halime Sultan from the Turkish drama series "Dirili: Ertgrul" at a public meeting in Gilgit-Baltistan on Wednesday.

The politician was dressed from head to toe in a subdued shade of blue, Turkish blue, with a headpiece that resembled the one worn by Turkish actor Esra Bilgic in "Dirili: Ertugrul."

Maryam is currently campaigning in the northern region ahead of the Sunday legislative assembly elections. She has addressed public meetings in various areas and also led a public demonstration from Shigar to Skardu.

Maryam has been adopting traditional outfits on the campaign trails. She recently paired a monochrome burgundy shalwar kameez with a traditional Chitrali pakol hat at a public gathering in Skardu.
