Mufti Munibur Rehman determines Rs140 as fitra for this year

 

KARACHI: Former Ruet-i-Hilal Central Committee Chairman Mufti Munibur Rehman announced on Tuesday that the faithful should pay Rs 140 per head as fitra and fidya.

In a statement, Mufti Munib said that the fitra resulted in Rs320 per head based on the price of barley, Rs960 based on the price of dates, Rs1,920 based on the price of raisins.

The statement quoted the clergyman as saying that wealthy people should try to pay more based on their wealth.
