Meghan Markle uses her maiden name for the first time since royal exit

Meghan Markle was first heard using her maiden name after leaving the royal family earlier this year.

The Duchess of Sussex was introduced as the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle before her empowerment speech began at the Girl Up Summit on Monday.

According to the media, this is believed to be the first time she has used her maiden name, Markle, as an official since she married Prince Harry in 2018.

Previously, you have only used your duchess title or first name. For her voice-over role in the Disney Plus documentary Elephant earlier this year, she was credited as "Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex."


Additionally, her name was signed on her son Archie's birth certificate as Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.

Before Meghan, the Duchess's York, Sarah Ferguson, retains her official Duchess title, but does not use "HRH".

While her Twitter name is @SarahTheDuchess, she uses Sarah Ferguson as her official YouTube channel name and as the author's name in her children's books.
